Chakra is a Sanskrit word that means wheel. The chakras in your body are part of your energy wheels and when they are moving correctly, you will be balanced. Many people that believe in chakras such as yoga practitioners, know that the chakras have been around for years and that many of the thoughts on this came from India. The idea of the chakras was recorded in ancient texts.
The texts show that there are more than 80,000 chakras in the body but there are only seven that are considered to be the main chakras. The chakras work from your spine to your head, and they open and work the best when you meditate and when you are living your life with high vibrations.
The chakras help you to understand the mysterious around you and when you are going through your enlightenment you will see that it follows a path of the chakras. The chakras all have a certain mantra, color and symbol that they are associated with.
The first chakra is the root chakra or the Muladhara. It is found at the bottom of the spine and is associated with the lotus and the color red. This is the chakra that works to open up your instincts and you can balance it by using the mantra, “Lam.”
The second chakra is the sacral chakra and is found below your belly button. It is represented by the lotus that has six petals and the color orange. You can use the mantra, “Vam,” to open up your relationships and to release your feelings. This is the place where your body’s reproductive system works and where you feel pleasure and pain.
Solar Plexus Chakra
The Solar plexus chakra helps to keep your digestive tract strong and increases your metabolism. It is associated with the color yellow and the mantra, “Ram.” It also has the symbol of the lotus with a triangle.
The heart chakra is found in the middle of your chest and is the place where you have unconditional love and compassion. It helps to keep your immune system strong. This is represented by the color green and the symbol of the lotus with 12 petals. It works great with the mantra, “Yam.”
The throat chakra is found in the throat and helps you to be able to communicate openly with people. It is represented by the lotus but with 16 petals. It works with the “hum,” mantra and is associated with the color blue. This is also where your thyroid and endocrine glands are found.
Third Eye Chakra
The third eye chakra or the Anja is found in the middle of your forehead. It is represented by the color indigo and the lotus that has 2 petals. Using “om” can help to open up your third eye chakra. This is where your psychic gifts lie.
The crown chakra is found at the top of your head. It helps you to connect with the universe and to open up your conscious thinking. It is part of your spiritual being and when it is strong it can help you to be devoted and selfless. This chakra is associated with violet or white and there is no mantra that works with this chakra.
It is important that your chakras are balanced if you want to reach your spiritual enlightenment. You can open up and balance your chakras through meditation, eating well, using crystals, and wearing the color that is associated with the chakra. You can also use the mantras to help.
